Prena Sharma and Dr Sonakshi Bose are two of the most iconic Indian TV characters. Erica Fernandes is the one who brought them to life. The actress was last seen in a music video after the conclusion of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi: Nayi Kahani in 2021. I was eagerly waiting for her TV comeback but looks like it might not happen at all.
Surprisingly, Erica has decided to take her talents to Dubai. The actress shared that she has been feeling stuck in India and this step to move ahead in life. Plus, Dubai is like a home for her. She has been living in the country as a resident for a few months and has shifted her base altogether.
She shared in a media interaction, “Dubai has always been home, so I wouldn’t say it’s moving out of my comfort zone. My family is here, so the thought of living here didn’t make me feel apprehensive. However, I travel back and forth to India for my work commitments.”
Erica shared that she was looking for the next step in her life and shifting was the right decision for her. “I was looking for growth. It’s not about how much work you have done. It’s about what more?” said the actress.
Fret not, Erica also added that she is still open to working in India if something great comes along her way. Phew!
Looking Back At Erica’s Journey On Television
In 2016, Erica made her debut with Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. Her character Sonakshi Bose became a major hit and she was flooded with work offers. However, the actress took her time to pick her next show and finally chose the perfect one. In 2018, she blessed our screens as Prerna on the Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot. Erica was last seen in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi: Nayi Kahani. Meanwhile, she has a bunch of projects lined up in Dubai.
While I might not see Erica on the TV screens anytime soon, I am proud of her for moving forward in life. Here’s to new beginnings!
