“Aaj humara, kal apna… koi maane ya na maane. Apni hasti hai, masti ke haseen taraane…” Okay, I might have gotten a bit carried away, but who wouldn’t? I bet anybody who grew up watching this show would have sung along with me (and maybe, the entire title track too. Hehe!). I still remember when my elder sister and I would watch the show together and dream of having a high school as rocking as theirs. The show gave us enough memories to last a lifetime and made our childhood a bit more amazing!

Directed by Nupur Asthana, Hip Hip Hurray first aired in 1998 and chronicled the lives of a bunch of high school teenagers who were dealing with a number of issues like peer pressure, ambitions, drug abuse, adulthood, etc. Their friendships, ‘pehla pehla pyaar’, mischievous escapades, their ‘I-want-to-grow-up-now’ phases, fears, hopes and dreams – were all very relatable to teenagers growing up during that time. Last year, when the show completed 20 years, the star cast even made a sweet little video that got us feeling super nostalgic. Check it out:
