Sushmita Sen is all of us at a family wedding. Preparing dance performances, doing twirls in pretty shaadi outfits, taking pictures (oh-so-many pictures) with everyone, and so on. Looking at the bulk of pictures and videos that the Main Hoon Na actress has been sharing on her Instagram, we are surer than ever. Her excitement at her brother Rajeev Sen’s wedding in Goa is contagious.
And so are her groovy moves in the dance videos.
After infecting our feeds with her wedding fever, Sushmita has just posted a bunch more of dance videos from Rajeev’s wedding with popular TV actress Charu Asopa. The OG Dilbar Dilbar star can be seen dancing on everyone’s favourite shaadi song, Nachde Ne Saare, with beau Rohman Shawl, her younger daughter Alisah and other family members.
“#sangeet 🎵❤️ And then came #dhamaal 😉😄😍💃🏻This was a VERY Private wedding with immediate families & only a few close friends from both sides, so there was no question of anyone being an audience, EVERYONE had to dance!!😄👊💃🏻We made sure of it,” wrote the actress. Don’t forget to swipe right for some more insight into how the Sen’s do it.
Like a fangirling sister and sister-in-law, Sush also shared a video of Rajeev and Charu’s first dance together as a married couple on the romantic song from Padmaavat, Ek Dil Ek Jaan. She also shared Charu’s solo on a semi-classical number at the Sangeet and wrote, “Uffff how beautiful are these two @asopacharu @rajeevsen9 😍😊❤️ we couldn’t take our eyes off them!! 💃🏻💋And my sister in law, Charu owned the night with her solo performance👏🤗😍sooooooo soooooo graceful & BEAUTIFUL!!😍💋.”
Rajeen Sen, a model and entrepreneur, tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend, Charu Asopa, in a secret court marriage in Mumbai. Talking to Delhi Times, Charu said, “Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision.”
After getting their marriage certificate, they flew to Goa for a proper wedding with all the ceremonies. They had a Christian-themed engagement ceremony followed by an Indian wedding done according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals since Charu is Rajasthani and Rajeev is Bengali.
“I have always dreamt of having a white wedding… The idea is to start with white – the colour stands for peace and purity – and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani,” Charu told DT.
Many congratulations to the happy couple. May you dance all your dances together, Rajeev and Charu.
