Varun And Sara’s Coolie No. 1 Trailer Just Released & Twitter Is Flooded With Memes!

The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film, Coolie No. 1, just released and it’s got everyone talking. The film also stars Paresh Ravel, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav, and Johnny Lever, and honestly, that just sounds like a hilarious set of people. It’s also the 45th directorial debut of David Dhawan who was also at the helm of the original film starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.

The trailer starts off with an introduction to Varun Dhawan who is shown as a mega-rich man who owns Asia’s biggest port and the Burj Khalifa! But we already know that he’s an impersonator who is actually a coolie trying to con Paresh Rawal. Then we meet a bikini-clad Sara Ali Khan who is pretty much only seen dancing next to Dhawan. And finally, we meet Dhawan’s street smart twin, played by Dhawan again.

After watching the trailer, all I can think of is why did this film have to be remade? No one can impersonate Govinda, he’s a legend and it’s hard to match up to his persona. With such big shoes to fill, Varun seems to be trying hard but fails miserably. All I can hope is that the movie is better than the sneak peek we’ve just seen and does at least some justice to the original. 

Coolie No.1 was earlier set to release on the 1st of May but with the theatres being shut, it is now all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on the 25th of December, 2020.
