And this has been the case since the start of her career. In fact, Urvashi courted her first controversy with her very first pageant. Back in 2012, she had to legit return her Miss Universe crown! Here’s the story behind the incident:
Why Did Urvashi Have To Return The Crown?
In 2012, Urvashi participated in the third edition of the ‘I AM She’ beauty pageant. And guess what? She bagged the Miss India Universe crown after beating 20 other contestants! But in a sad turn of events, the model-turned-actress was asked to return her it because she was underage while competing (only a few months less than 18). But that’s not it. There were also some contract violations as Rautela had won Miss Tourism Queen Of The Year in 2011 and wasn’t supposed to participate in another pageant for at least a year! Consequently, Urvashi had to give away the crown to the first runner-up, Shilpa Singh.
However, she overcame the setback and made a stellar comeback by representing the country at the Miss Universe competition in 2015. Urvashi’s acting career had also started by then and there was no looking back for her!
TBH, if I had even 10% of her self-confidence, I’d be ruling the world RN. But that’s not gonna happen ‘coz as Urvashi’s would put it, I’m a ‘velli gworl’!
