The relationship between paps and celebs is a bit like Tom and Jerry. And who knows this better than Uorfi Javed? Wherever she goes, the paparazzi follow and it is apparent that Uorfi doesn’t mind that one bit. She always greets them with a warm smile, speaks nicely, and has never known to through a tantrum. Sadly, nice people are often taken for granted and that’s exactly what happened with the Bigg Boss OTT star recently.
During a shoot, a pap sneakingly made a rude comment on Uorfi’s outfit and said, “Aaj toh dhang ke kapde pehne hain (Oh, she is dressed decently today). She only realised this later while watching a video on a pap page. However, it did not stop just there. Yesterday, Uorfi made it to a song launch in a risqué outfit and some photographers commented on her clothes yet again.
This is when Uorfi decided to school them. Visibly miffed, she said, “Guys I am not coming here for this. Tumhein agar comment karna hai na toh apni girlfriend aur maa-behen ke ghar pe jaake karo. Mere kapdon pe koi comment nahi karega. (If you want to comment, go to your girlfriend or mother or sister’s house to comment on them. No one will comment on my clothes anymore.) One more comment from any one of you and that’s it. I give you guys so much respect and this is what I am getting back?”
We totally understand where Uorfi is coming from! The Bigg Boss star has always treated paps like fellow professionals but that doesn’t give them the right to make personal comments on her sartorial choices. That said, we are glad that Uorfi isn’t afraid to call out people when they cross the line. Guess, you end up growing a thick skin after the kind of social media trolling that Uorfi is subjected to on a daily basis.
In an earlier interview, Uorfi opened up about the trolling and said, “You see someone and judge them without knowing, and we all do it. I do the same thing sometimes. People look at you if you’re bold and wear dresses like that. It is very easy for people to term the bold girls as sluts. They judge you and form a perception basis the clothes you wear that you must be extrovert and bold. But I feel your clothes cannot describe you. You might wear a bikini and still be a kind-hearted introvert.”
Well, we better start treating Uorfi like the queen that she is!
