Uorfi Javed is currently the talk of the town. She is working for fashion bigwigs, posing for popular magazines, and always trending on social media. The girl has officially made it and I am so proud! You’d be too after hearing about her humble beginnings and troubled childhood.
In a recent interview with a popular magazine, Uorfi opened up about her share of struggles. Read on.
She Walked Through Hell!
Uorfi grew up in a conservative Lucknow household and was second of the five children. Uorfi’s dad was aggressive and both physical and verbal abuse was an everyday thing.
She shared, “He used to beat us a lot, used to beat my mother too. And the verbal abuse was a daily thing. Someone calling you a r**** every day, it f**** you up. I attempted suicide also a couple of times. I barely left the house, my father wouldn’t allow it.”
Tired of the daily abuse, Uorfi ran away with two of her sisters at 17. They lived in miserable conditions for a year until life took her to Mumbai and she got her first acting offer. One thing led to another and today we have Uorfi Javed, the brand!
No child deserves to face the kind of horrors that Uorfi did. I just want to give her a tight hug!
