Last night we watched another one of the Bigg Boss 15 episodes where Pratik Sehajpal and Umar Riaz had a full-blown violent fight complete with dhakka mukki and an aggressive pin-down. Truth be told, it wasn’t too big of a deal for the viewers given the season’s aggressive history. However, we were definitely in for a surprise when Bigg Boss assembled all the housemates in the garden area and started lecturing them on violence and frequent fights. “Bigg Boss ke ghar main hinsa par kadi pabandi hai. Show ke 14 hafte poore kar show ki maryaada ko barkaraar rakhte hue, is anuchit vyavhaar par rok laga di jaye,” Bigg Boss was heard saying in his stern voice. For a moment there it really did look like, Umar was going to be thrown out of the house. However, it was soon announced that there was no eviction on the cards. Following that, we got to know about a really bizarre plan that the makers came up with to penalise Umar and we haven’t stopped laughing ever since.
So, as of now, Umar’s fate in the Bigg Boss 15 house lies in our hands. The makers have come up with a poll where they are literally asking the viewers if he deserves to live in the house post attacking Pratik in the recent task. “Kya bal ke prayog be baavjood Umar ko ghar mein rehna chahiye,” the poll reads. It’s live on Twitter with “Yes” and “No” options and we’d get to hear the final result during the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode.
This poll easily features among the top five nonsensical things that have happened in Bigg Boss 15. On one hand, they say that Bigg Boss house has no place for violent contestants and, on the other, they are literally asking us if it is cool to excuse it just this time. What’s happening? Does the entire team of Bigg Boss makers happen to be a bunch of seven-year-olds who are playing gully cricket and want to check if they can mould the rules as per their whims? Boundry ke bahar out…ek tappa catch out…deewar par laga toh 6? Is that what they have resorted to this season?
While we have been accusing the makers of being too smart and biased this season, we finally can pin down the real problem which seems to be a lack of spine. There is no other way of explaining why they can not throw Umar out of the house for being consistently aggressive and violent throughout the season when we have seen contestants being evicted for much less.
Remember Zeeshan Khan from Bigg Boss OTT, who was thrown out for a fight with Pratik Sehajpal and Nishant when they were as responsible as him? Or Priyank Sharma from season 11 who was shown the doors for just pushing a contestant, something that has been happening multiple times in every single Bigg Boss episode this season? In the past, if it has been so easy for the makers to kick aggressive contestants out then why are their hands tied this season? Looks like different rules apply to different people in the Bigg Boss house and it has been so evident this season, that the show and its rules sound like a joke now.
Honestly, the Bigg Boss makers have never looked this lost and confused. Season 15 is just a massive failure and the credit goes to all this randomness where the creatives do as they please, have different rules for different people and don’t even have the guts to set an example to save the integrity on the show that they pretend to care about. You aren’t getting any TRPs with this approach, guys. Neither for Bigg Boss 15 nor for the upcoming seasons of the show.
