There hasn’t been a Bollywood film in recent times that has created as much hype as Brahmāstra. The film just hit the silver screen today and it has already received tons of praise and critical acclaim. Amongst all this love, the blockbuster did receive it’s share of negativity. Netizens are slamming Ayan Mukerji’s labour of love, but not for it’s storyline or music. To our surprise, cine-goers have taken serious offence to a leaked dance video that has gone viral on social media.
Twitter is currently abuzz with criticism surrounding this leaked video featuring actress Alia Bhatt. Alia is seen dancing to the popular track Chikni Chameli in the clip, and she is later joined by the main lead of the film, Ranbir Kapoor. Take a look:

What looks like an innocent scene in the film, didn’t go down too well with the audience. Some netizens are criticising the makers for using a dance number in a film that is supposed to be a celebration of India’s mythology. Others pointed out how characters named after Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are being made to dance to a lustful song. Some are even bashing Ranbir for dancing to a song that belongs to his ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. Here are some of the wild reactions from Twitter users:
