I don’t know what we were thinking when we started this year with truckloads of optimism and hope. As the summer of 2020 approached, things got from bad to worse. Every. Freaking. Day. From the pandemic to cyclones and locust attacks, there is not even a single day that we didn’t curse this year. Right?
Well, what if we tell you that there’s more to this year? Yes! More than wildfires, attacks, and the virus! The GDP fall. Before the official news came out, we all knew that things are not good for all of us (financially speaking). ‘Coz sadly, lay-offs and pay cuts have become a way of life for many.
India’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth rate has hit an all-time low this year. It is the lowest of the low in the past six years. The GDP growth rate for the second quarter of the coming year fell from 4.5 to 5 as recorded in the last quarter. Simply put, the economic condition of India is worrisome. While for some it may be a business loss, there are many struggling to survive. And while the government is still figuring out ways to find out the root cause of this problem, Netizens were quick to start a meme fest on Twitter. And we can relate HARD!!!
After all, at the end of the day, only your high spirits can get us out of this year. And since we all have unanimously called this year the ‘worst so far’, might as well have some fun ‘coz sulking has not helped us even one bit.

Well, no one’s sure what’s going to happen next. All we can do is pray for good times and laugh off the bad ones. Just like these people.
