It Can Be Powerful: Sanjay Dutt’s Daughter Trishala On How Trauma Has Helped Her Grow

Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt just opened up about her past trauma in an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram. When a fan asked her what she values the most in life, Trishala shared that she values the traumatic experiences she has faced, as they helped her gain perspective and grow.

“Everyone hopes they’ll avoid the worst life has to offer such as accidents, illness, loss or violence. Unfortunately, few of us will get through life unscathed. But it’s not all bad news. Trauma can also be a powerful force for positive change. Post-traumatic growth can be transformative. Post-traumatic growth can be powerful,” read Trishala’s answer.

Trishala said that growth starts with healing from trauma. She added that people have the capacity to do more than just heal. She shared that trauma and loss helped her grow in life and become a ‘better version’ of herself as it made her search for meaning in life.

“Given the right environment & mindset, again, for me personally, I can change using the trauma, the suffering & struggle that ensues as an opportunity to reflect, & search for meaning in my life to ultimately become a better version of myself,” said Trishala.

She also revealed that she made friends with her pain, loss and trauma instead of running away from it while adding that her aim is not to get rid of the pain but rather to manage it well.
