Honestly, it’s getting really hard to keep up with all these new nail trends. Just when we manage to ace one, we have another one on the horizon (not that we mind!) And the latest trend is an oldie but a goodie!

Tie-dye has surprisingly emerged as one of the coolest trends of the quarantine! People are really into all things tie-dye — whether it is crop tops, hoodies, tracksuits, shoes or hair accessories. I think it’s safe to say that neon has officially been dethroned!

Although tie-dye nails were huge last year… Now that we’re all stuck in the lockdown bored in the house, and in the house bored, they are back and making quite the statement on Instagram. And if you don’t mind a burst of colour on your nails, here’s how you can DIY them today.

You’ll need:

– A flat sponge

– A few nail colours, preferably brighter and pastel ones

– Base and topcoat

How To DIY Tie-Dye Nails

Step 1: Apply a layer of topcoat on your nails and allow it to dry for a minute.

Step 2: Next, take a sponge and apply a few shades of nail polish all along its flat edge. Don’t overlap the shades but instead, apply it on the corners and let them meet in the middle.

Step 3: Using the same sponge, dab it lightly on your nails. Dab it again if you’re not happy with the pattern or if it’s too sheer to your liking.

Step 4: Repeat the process on all your nails

Step 5: Switch up colours on different nails if you’d like

Step 6: Once you are done, let your nails dry for a few minutes and then seal the deal with topcoat.

This is honestly so easy to do and will hardly take you 30 minutes to do a whole set. For best results, apply a white base coat to your nails. This will help all your tie-dye colours pop.
