Brahmāstra Part 1 – Shiva was easily one of the most awaited releases of the year. Thankfully, the film didn’t fail to entertain the audience. Apart from the gripping plot line and tons of twists and turns, viewers also thoroughly enjoyed Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s crackling chemistry. But now to our surprise, we hear that Brahmāstra 2 will see a new couple in the lead.
In a recent interview with a media portal, movie critic Anupama Chopra let it slip that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will replace #RaLia in the next chapter. She was chatting with interviewer Anmol Jamwal where the two talked about the good and underwhelming aspects of the film. Anupama and Anmol also gave us their thoughts on part 2 of the Astraverse franchise. It was at this point that Anupama shared she hopes the makers learn from the critical feedback of the film, and make a ‘kickass’ sequel with Deepika and Ranveer.
The visibly shocked Anmol, immediately intervened and asked, “Is that confirmed? Is this insider news?”. To this, Anupama confessed and chucked, “It is insider news”.

All though, fans were already speculating this dynamic duo to be a part of the next movie ever since the trailer launch of part one, we were eagerly waiting for a confirmation. Adding to our excitement, director Ayan Mukerji also revealed some info on part 2 as he dropped some hints on Dev’s storyline, the main character of chapter 2.
“I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create a very clear indication of where we are going next with the storytelling. And now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist”, he said.
Well, folks, while we’ll miss seeing #RaLia as the main leads, we’re are sure that Ranveer and Deepika will set the screens on fire!
