Being an outsider in Bollywood is tough as it is, but when you are not even from the country, it is way tougher! No one knows this better than Nora Fatehi. The Canadian actress made her way to Bollywood after years of hard work, but this journey was far from easy. Nora was even asked to date specific people to boost her public profile.
In a recent interview, Nora opened up on how people tried to meddle with her dating life. She said, “I was constantly told you should date specific people for PR.” However, she didn’t pay heed to this advice and kept working hard to get into Bollywood. The Street Dancer 3 star added, “I didn’t listen to any of those sh*t. I am glad that I did. I make the rules, and I work on my own terms. Success is not because of another guy next to me or another actor next to me.“
It is surprising to see how people use relationships to stay in the limelight in the entertainment biz. I am happy to see how Nora decided to swim against the tide and became a success on her own terms.
When Nora Was Asked To Leave Bollywood
This is not the first time Nora has spoken about the dark side of Bollywood. In an earlier interview, the actress revealed that she faced hardships when she was just starting her career due to the language barrier. In fact, a casting director even asked her to go back to her country as Bollywood already has people that look like her.
Luckily, Nora didn’t let anything stop her from trying her best in Bollywood. Without a godfather or dating someone ‘specific’, she managed to become a sought-after performer. What a journey it has been for Nora!
