The hunt for the new Mr Bajaj for Ekta Kapoor’s remake of Kasautii Zindagii Kay has been the talk of the town. And now, sources have confirmed that Karan Singh Grover will be playing this grey character that sweeps in to cause a rift between Anurag Basu and Prerna Sharma, the main characters of the show. After Komolika’s untimely exit, the creators are ready to bring in more drama with Mr Bajaj.
In the original series, which aired in 2001, the role of Mr Bajaj was played by Ronit Roy. “I’m very happy for Karan bagging the role of Bajaj. I think he’ll do a great job. My good wishes are with him. May he and Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 attain much greater heights of popularity than I did,” said Ronit Roy to a leading website.
It looks like Ronit Roy is ready to pass the torch! “He’s a seasoned actor and doesn’t need my advice. All I can say is, be cool,” the actor said.
The actor went on to say that it has been one of his most memorable roles yet and people still refer to him as Rishab Bajaj. “People still do call me that. It goes without saying that it was one of my iconic and career-defining roles,” Ronit added.
While Ekta Kapoor is yet to make an official announcement, we know we can expect Mr Bajaj to make his big entry soon enough! Recently, Ekta Kapoor shared a post on her Instagram stating that the hunt for Mr Bajaj was on.
With the storyline of the show inching towards Komolika’s exit, Mr Bajaj’s introduction is bound to be in true Ekta Kapoor fashion…coupled with a lot of drama!
