Eye Creams May Be A Scam But Trust Me, The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution Eye Serum Actually Works

The Ordinary’s Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG has been a literal lifesaver. I’ve been using it for a few weeks at this point and my dark circles have disappeared so immaculately that it has actually changed the way I look.
What Is It?
The Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG is a water-based under-eye serum that promises to reduce puffiness and visibility of dark circles. It is formulated with ingredients like caffeine in addition to epigallocatechin gallate glucoside. EGCG is essentially an antioxidant present in green tea that reduces inflammation and fights oxidative stress.
It creates a sticky film that tightens and brightens your under-eyes. It also has anti-ageing properties that get rid of your dark circles entirely. No, this is not an exaggeration!
Our Thoughts
The texture of this serum is slightly thick, almost like a gel. So it sticks to your under eyes and tightens them. I’ve been using this for three weeks now and my dark circles have almost disappeared; I’ve already recommended it to a few friends and my bestie even used it on her whole face to tighten the skin and make it plump.
But I don’t recommend this method for sensitive skin since saw a few bumps under my eyes after using this product initially. But since my skin is acne-prone and does get triggered easily, I can’t say for sure that they’re because of the serum.
If you have small pores and don’t usually break out, this is a great serum for a full-faced subtle glow.
How To Use It?
Personally, I cleanse my face and apply the first few of my face serums. Once those are absorbed, I apply a few drops of the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG to my under eyes and let it cool down. Follow with moisturiser and sunscreen, and you’re good to go!
Like I said above, it’s a great serum for a full face routine as well but since I have sensitive skin, I don’t personally use it like that. I have seen it work on friends and family, so give it a go. Make sure to do a patch text first.
What Does It Look Like?
In Conclusion
I love this and use it pretty much every day. So overall 10/10 product, strongly recommend it if you're tired of using eye creams and seen no change in your under eyes so far!
