The Kapil Sharma Show has been all over our social media feed recently and not for the right reasons. The director of Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri, claimed that his team was not invited to the talk show because his movie did not feature any big commercial star. While netizens slammed Kapil Sharma, the host refused to accept the allegations. Now, there’s another update regarding the series that may not sit well with his fans. The show is going off-air for a few months and TBH, we think that it’s for the good.
A little birdie has revealed that the comedian will be beginning his US tour shortly and hence, will be unable to shoot for the show. They said, “Kapil has a month-long USA tour planned mid-June and would be unavailable to shoot. The team thus decided to take a break during that same time. A few episodes, however, will be pre-shot to continue entertaining fans before they go on a break.”
Kapil announced the same on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Really happy to announce my US-Canada Tour 2022, See you all soon.” The show will, however, continue to run on Sony TV and the viewers will be able to watch the repeat telecast of old episodes. This is not the first time when TKSS will be going off-air temporarily. Back in January, the host took a short break from shooting as he and his wife, Ginni Chatrath, had welcomed their baby girl, Anayra.
Now, while the reality talk show is going off-air for a short duration, we hope that it doesn’t come back with its old format. TKSS has been entertaining its audience for six years now but using the same problematic jokes and concepts. Every single episode of the series blatantly promotes body shaming and sexist remarks. While it may seem ‘harmless’ to several viewers, the truth is that it’s every bit regressive. Over the years, it has become one of the most controversial shows on Indian TV and that needs to change right away.
Honestly, it’s for the best that TKSS is taking a short break. We are hoping that it makes a comeback on television with a progressive format and better jokes. It’s 2022 and high time that comedians stop making derogatory remarks in the name of comedy.
We hope you come back with a bang, Kapil Sharma!
