I grew up loving Delhi winters. Picnicking in Sunder Nursery during my college days is still one of my favourite memories. But what really bugs me about this weather is the lack of sunlight. I’m a true “child of the earth” like Alia Bhatt would like to say, so I like to look sunkissed even when there’s no sun. And when she released a 10-minute, in-depth tutorial about her ‘sunburnt’ makeup look, I had to cover it!
Every Product Alia Bhatt Uses For Her Sunburnt Makeup Routine
The first step is a lightweight skin tint. Alia uses the Summer Friday’s skin tint, mixes it with the KIKO Primer, and applies it all over her face with her fingers for a sheer glow.
“I’m not very comfortable using a blush when I’m applying my skin tint. I feel like I get a better coverage when I’m using my hands,” says the Gangubai star.
Next, she goes in with a little bit of the Kosas concealer and highlights her under eyes, upper lip, and cheekbones with a feather-light touch.
The third step is blush, the secret ingredient for this look. The first product she goes in with is the Glossier Cloud Paint in the shade Beam. She takes a big amount on her fingers and makes a C curve from her brows to her cheekbones, much like how you apply bronzer. “And the trick here is to not stop it on the cheek. Go over my nose,” she instructs.
She does the same thing on the other side and dabs a little onto her chin as well as the top of her forehead for a full-faced flush.
An important part of this look is to go hard with your contour. Alia uses the MILK Contour Stick and then applies a little translucent powder on her under eyes and upper lift to make sure the concealer doesn’t lift. “It’s my most favourite powder,” she says about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.
For eyeshadow, she uses the Too Faced Pinker Times Ahead. She sets the base with the peachiest shade in the tin and mixes it with a deeper, dustier pink to create a pretty pink foundation. Then she goes in with the shiner, lighter pigment and dabs the corner and waterline to lift up the whole look. She also dabs a little white on the inside of her eye to complete the look.
“Again, most of my makeup, I have literally learned looking at my makeup artist’s hand. Her name is Puneet, and the way she moves her brush on my face, like, that was the first – that’s how I started really understanding how to move a brush on my face,” She revealed.
To finish the eye look, she starts by curling her lashes and going in with two favourites: the Gucci mascara for a light lift on the upper lid and the Tower 28 mascara on the lower lid.
The last step is brows, which she fills in with the Benefit Brow Palette.
We know Alia’s routines are usually pretty chaotic – so it is no surprise that after her eyes, she goes right back to blush. She uses the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette Universe Limited 2021 and mixes the dusty pink and dark bronze shades.
Then she goes back in with the Hourglass contour bronzer for that “burntish” feel. Again, this product is unavailable in India – but here is a palette that can do it all.
Finally, for finishing touches she uses the Milk Makeup cream highlighter stick along with the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer – Mesmerize on the highlights of her face.
For lips, she uses the Revlon Ultra HD Naked Matte Lipstick and the rhode Peptide Balm.
This is the perfect makeup look to replicate on those gloomy days, when you have a little time and need a little bit of sunshine!
