The Ambani jewellery collection deserves a display museum of its own! From massive emeralds and rubies to the most brilliant diamonds and pearls, they have it all. Well, except one gemstone—blue sapphire aka Neelam! I have never seen Isha Ambani, Nita Ambani, or Shloka Ambani flaunting the blue stone.
Recently, blogger and gemstone expert Julia Chafé pointed out the exact same thing. In a reel about Isha Ambani’s impressive jewellery arsenal, she pointed out how the Reliance heiress has never been spotted wearing a sapphire.
Julia talked about Isha’s love for precious gemstones and wondered why blue sapphires were getting a cold shoulder from her. Well, I know the answer! Here’s why the Ambani women stay away from blue sapphires:

Blue sapphires are regarded as the stones for Saturn (or Shani) which is considered to be a strong and malefic planet. This is why it is said that a Blue Sapphire needs to be worn with proper guidance from an astrologer and only when it complements your birth chart. It is known to be a potent stone that can either make you a fortune or completely ruin your life (or even kill you).
Many believe that Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring was the reason behind her untimely death. The stone did not suit her and took her life. On the other hand, it sits well with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton who has been prospering ever since she started wearing the ring. Closer home, Amitabh Bachchan also wears a Blue Sapphire. Astrologers claim it is the stone that made him one of the biggest Bollywood stars!
Now, Ambanis are a traditional lot and Nita is known to be quite superstitious. In the past, she has also been spotted chanting a special mantra during her team, Mumbai Indians matches. All in all, she is not someone who’d take astrology lightly and play around with a stone like Blue Sapphire.
So, I am gonna jump on a limb here and guess that the Blue Sapphires do not complement the Ambani women’s birth chart. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure we would have seen hoards of them, just like the huge emeralds that we spot them wearing every now and then. The Neelam is a gorgeous stone, after all!
