“I’m a mirrorball“, goes one of Taylor’s songs — but I didn’t anticipate her actually living up to the reputation at last night’s VMAs, where she took home an award for her music video All Too Well. She did anyway — courtesy of a crystal-draped minidress climaxed by crystal-encrusted eyes, reminding us of her Reputation era. Swift glittered, sparkled, and swiveled heads as she sashayed down the carpet — everyone’s gaze fixated on her. A cascade of bangs billowed around on either sides of her face, and her hair was fashioned into an understated bun for the night, but it was her (eye) makeup that caught our attention. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the singer’s look last night where she won big and announced her brand-new album, Midnights. And in full T-swift style, it’s so sparkly.

Ladies & Gentlemen, Will You Please Stand?

#1: Glaze The Base

Double-cleanse your face to eliminate deep-seated impurities from within, and slather a scoop of moisturiser onto your skin to plump and hydrate your skin. Pick a soft-focus, lightweight liquid-based foundation, and blend it into your skin with a sponge or blender, and focus some concealer on the under-eyes to brighten them. Blur out patches and blemishes with the same before setting it all in with a setting powder.

#2: Pep Up The Peppers

Taylor’s eyes headline this look. Set the base with a warm-toned brown-pink eyeshadow — blending it into the lid generously. Dust some over the crease too. Go on to draw a cat-eye on each lid — ensure that it’s angled upward and outward toward the temple. Frame the flicks with crystals shaped into a larger wing. Curl the lashes, and brush them with two or three coats of mascara. You can tease the inner-corners of the eye with a shade of silver or white to brighten the eyes more.

Brush your brows sideways with a spoolie, and accentuate the shape of the brows with an eyebrow-pencil. Draw fine hair-like strokes on the brows instead of filling them in unnaturally, and tame the hair with an eyebrow-gel to cop the 32-year-old’s look.

#4: Touch Up With Blush

Taylor has circled the apples of her cheeks with a shade of Red. All you have to do is transfer some blusher onto the sides of your palm — before pressing it against the other palm, and blotting the blusher onto the cheeks. Rub it in, and keep blending until it has lent a natural-looking flush to your face. Highlight the high-points of the face before concluding — sweep some product over the tip of the nose, across the temples and jawline, and on the Cupid’s Bow.

#5: Dip The Lip

Line your lips with a blood-red lip-pencil — defining the outer-corners more. Use your finger to blend the formula inward — from the sides of the lip toward the center before filling it all in with a blood-red lipstick.
