Taylor Swift’s video that dropped at midnight (or 10.30 am for me) sent my heart into a love spiral. Lavender Haze is just the inspiration I needed for my Galentine’s Day plans. While the colour for Valentine’s Day is red, single girls like me are never too keen on the loved-up shade. Enter: Lavender. Taylor’s music video is proof that this colour is here to stay.
I’m Going Purple This Galentine’s Day – Thank You, Taylor
Here’s how I plan on recreating Taylor Swift’s makeup look from her Lavender Haze music video.
First, Set The Base
The soft glow on her skin is enviable. If you are not much of a “drink enough water” or a “sleep on time” person, the quick fix for your dehydrated skin is a sheet mask. Once you remove the sheet mask after 10-15 minutes, massage the leftover serum in circular motions on your face. Next up, your regular CTM routine.
Then apply a primer for a clean base. Dab on the MyGlamm Super Serum BB Cream instead of a foundation to keep it light and simple. Add a few drops of liquid highlighter to ape her glow. Finally, with your fingers, blend a creamy blush into your cheeks.
Then, You Need Those Lavender Eyes
Swipe your lids with a dash of matte lavender eyeshadow first. Then crease your lids with the Kingdom Of Lashes Glitter eyeshadow. Over this, draw on a thick kohled rim and extend it into short cat-eye flicks with gel eyeliner. Top it off with at least 2 layers of mascara for that Taylor-like drama.
And A Juicy Pout
For the first half of the video, we see Taylor flaunting a glossy nude pout. The Too Faced Lip Injection will do the job best and is something I swear by.
Towards the end of the video, Taylor flaunts her signature dark lipstick, and this time it is not red, but a darker shade of purple. For bold lips like hers, start by lining your lips with a dark brown liner. Finally, just swipe on a matte purple lipstick.
