Admit it, we all are guilty of binge-watching the Netflix adaption of Archie comic Riverdale. So when we found out that we going to get our desi version of it, we couldn’t keep calm! One reason for the excitement is that not one, not two, but THREE star kids are making their acting debut with Netflix’s live-action musical film The Archies.
Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda are dipping their toes in the entertainment world with the flick and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar just shared a snap from the first day of the shoot.
The director posted a picture of clapboard and wrote, “Back To The Future💥 #thearchies #supercalifragilisticexpialidocious @netflix_in @tigerbabyfilms @reemakagti1”
While the cast has not officially been announced, a little birdie told us that Suhana will be seen playing Veronica Lodge, Khushi and Agastya will star as Betty Cooper and Archie Andrews.
A Quick Glimpse Of The Archies
Just a little while ago, a few pictures from the screen test went viral on the ‘Gram and left us all wanting more. In the snaps, Suhana was seen sporting a strappy black dress (totally killing it as Veronica), and Khushi wore a shirt, a short skirt with a sweater vest and sported bangs.
Earlier this year, Ibrahim Ali Khan was linked to the flick, but according to the grapevine, the star kid has not made up his mind about the project yet. NGL, it will be incredible if Ibrahim decides to join the cast!
Back in 2021, Zoya spoke about the decision to bring The Archies to Bollywood at an event. The filmmaker said, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous.”
TBH, after Zoya’s post, we all can’t wait for the film to drop online ASAP! Here’s hoping the production house gives us a release date soon! Until then, we’ll be on the lookout for more set pics!
