The Pakyong Airport in Sikkim was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi today and the state’s first airport is all set to start operations from October 4th. The visually stunning masterpiece has already created a buzz, thanks to its picturesque views. It’s situated at a height of 4,500 ft and took more than Rs 600 crore to be constructed!

2. Port Blair Airport, Andamans and Nicobar Islands
The Veer Savarkar International Airport also called Port Blair Airport is located in the dreamy location of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The area is surrounded by the endless blue waters of the Indian ocean and the evergreen rainforests.
3. Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh
Welcome to the 22nd highest commercial airport of the world, situated 10,682 ft above sea level. Due to the presence of mountain winds in the afternoon, all flights take off and land in the morning. It’s tight on security due to its location and passengers aren’t allowed to carry hand baggage except laptops and cameras with them. The snow clad mountains and the prism of colours make it one of the most stunning visuals.
4. Lengpui Airport, Mizoram
Here’s one for all you greenery lovers. The Lengpui Airport is a sight for sore eyes, especially when you’ve been stuck in the city. It is the located at a distance of 32 kilometres from Aizawl at an altitude of 504 m from sea level. It is also the first large airport in India to be built by a state government.
5. Agatti Airport, Lakshadweep
This airport is making us want to pack our bags and fly off right now. The runway is located on a narrow strip of land in the midst of the clear, blue waters. It only operates one flight to and from Kochi.
6. Gaggal Airport, Kangra
Another hilly airport, this one sits in the lap of the middle Himalayas. It’s 14 kilometres from Dharamshala and covers 1,269 acres of land. The altitude of the airport is 2,492 feet and offers breathtaking views.
7. Srinagar International Airport, Jammu & Kashmir
Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport, also known as the Srinagar airport, serves the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It overlooks the spectacular views of the valley and is co-owned by Indian Air Force and AAI.
