After turning away from his royal duties, Prince Harry has juggled many roles. He has penned his memoir, produced a bunch of shows, launched his non-profit organization and so much more. After a little break, the Duke of Sussex is ready to venture into production once again with his wife and Hollywood star Meghan Markle.
According to some international publications, Harry and Meghan have purchased the screen rights for the bestselling romantic novel Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune. Interestingly, the book shares more than a passing resemblance with the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The novel is the story of two people who start a romance in their 30s. That’s not all, one of the main characters suffers the tragic loss of a parent that changes everyone. Doesn’t it sound like Harry and Meghan’s story?
A source close to the couple shared, “The themes of the book gripped the couple and it was chosen for their first adaptation with Netflix.” The project is being made with a big budget of 3 million USD (INR 25 crores) and it is not going to be PG-13 for sure.
A little birdie told me the film will feature steamy sex scenes and drug use. This is a 180-degree turn from Harry and Meghan’s usual documentary productions.
IMO, this project is going to be a big shift for Harry and Meghan! Can’t wait for them to drop the official announcement soon.
