The audiences flocked to the theatres in plenty and shortly after it was released, the film achieved a massive fan following. It was also one of the movies which established Sridevi as a raging fashion icon, her solid blue saree seeing many recreations by her fans.

Chandni
Another movie with an array of iconic looks by the actress was Chandni, a film in which she starred alongside Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. Breezy, delicate kurtas aside, Sridevi’s eye-catching yellow saree teamed with a sleeveless blouse was an instant hit. Paired with a simple pearl necklace and earrings, it remains to be one of the most talked-about costumes in Bollywood.
Nagina
A different take on costumes was seen in the 1986 film Nagina, which saw the actress play the role of a shape-shifting snake.
