This Is How Sonam Kapoor’s Aunty Taught Her To Remove A Summer Tan
Sonam Kapoor has secrets. Old, generational secrets. I’ve finally got my hands on one of them. Namrata Soni, Sonam’s MUA, once revealed something about Kapoor’s aunt. The artiste explained that though Sonam’s blessed with amazing skin, the sun does affect her skin while she travels. That’s when Kapoor’s aunt’s passed-down DIY came to the rescue.
Since summers are around the corner, I know I’m going to need this mask ASAP. Here’s all I know about it.
Sonam Kapoor’s 3-Ingredient Mask Up Ahead
Just 3 ingredients, and you’re well on your way to fighting a tan:
- Multani Mitti
Just combine a few tablespoons of Multani Mitti with a teaspoon of turmeric before mixing in one tablespoon of honey.
Turmeric has skin-lightening properties that allow it to remove a tan and brighten your skin. This is because it contains something called curcumin that reduces the excess melanin on the skin; which makes your face look bright and even-toned in the process. Multani Mitti, on the other hand, exfoliates the skin and reduces spots and pigmentation. It even cools and soothes inflammation and redness; making the skin look even toned.
The final ingredient, aka honey, cannot be skipped. Honey plays the role of the hydrator in this case. It makes your skin feel soft, supple, and radiant. Since it’s sticky, it acts as a cleanser and exfoliator and rids your skin of layers of dirt and build-up.
If you’re super lazy though, I’ve found you some readymade products with the same ingredients that’ll work just like this DIY:
Just add some honey to it and you’re done!
That’s it. I’m not too worried about my post-vacay tan now!
