Sonam Kapoor is a fashionista in every sense of the word but, she is also a true-blue Punjabi bride at heart, who loves her friends and family the most. Like every other soon-to-be-married girl, she too wanted to celebrate her special day in the company of her loved ones. That is why she opted for a simple but oh-so-amazing ghar ka function instead of a grand affair. Here are some things we really liked about her mehendi celebrations:
1. The decoration was ‘every desi shaadi’ ever!
No fancy chandeliers and ice structures as one might have expected, but Anil Kapoor’s residence was beautifully decorated with fairy lights for his daughter’s wedding. Nothing over the top, just a gorgeously decked up shaadi wala ghar and yes, the trees around the house were lit up too!

2. The interior of the house was decorated with traditional genda phool and looked gorgeous!
Marigold flowers have the ability to light up any event!
3. Everyone, right from the bride and groom-to-be to the guests wore subtle yet classy outfits without going over the top!
They look so adorable together! Even her makeup was kept minimal and she dazzled in a beautiful Anuradha Vakil outfit.

4. It was a craze fest, with all of Sonam’s cousins and family having a great time with each other! It was everything one would expect a Punjabi mehendi function to be!

5. The bride’s father, our evergreen and ever excited Anil Kapoor was every dulhan’s dad ever! He was dancing with guests, making boomerangs and just being his super chill self!
6. Since Sonam was surrounded by all her loved ones, her happiness knew no bounds. She danced into the night like no one was watching!
And now for one of the most special dance – Sonam and Anand are just adorable!
7. It was a simple ghar ka function, and so Sonam decided to opt for the most comfy pair of slippers, instead of the fancy ones!
And that is exactly why we love her so much! She knows her fashion well, but she also knows that comfort comes first!

Now that the mehendi festivities were over, she changed into her comfy nightsuit! After all, how long is a bride supposed to sit in those heavy clothes for?!
