Sonam Kapoor welcomed a beautiful baby boy on August 20 with her husband Anand Ahuja. Throughout her pregnancy, the actress has been super real about the struggles and the not-so-pretty parts of the phase. Although the pregnancy glow is real, it can also cause distress to many. While many shy away from talking about the hardships faced during pregnancy, Sonam Kapoor kept it real as she even posted a picture of her swollen feet with the caption, “Pregnancy is not pretty sometimes.”
Not just pregnancy, but even post-pregnancy is a stressful phase that many women find hard to deal with. Unlike in movies, your belly doesn’t become flat immediately after you give birth. Sonam, who is now a mom to a two-week-old ‘Baby K Ahuja’, still continues to showcase only the reality. The actress shared a video on her Instagram story flaunting her postpartum tummy. In the video, she revealed that her maternity gear from Nike still fits her perfectly even after delivery. She then showed her belly and said, “Tummy’s not completely in yet. But, looks great!”
Many new moms find it difficult to embrace their bodies after pregnancy. Hence, Sonam Kapoor’s video is an inspiration to every new mother to love their postpartum body and weight just as much as they loved their baby bump. Giving birth is a beautiful thing and not something one should shy away from. You must give your body sufficient time to recover after it has LITERALLY pushed a human out.
