The Simply Nam Hydrating Lip Butter Gets Me Compliments, Even From Strangers!

The Simply Nam Rosenyn – Toasted Caramel Hydrating Lip Butter is one of my go-to multifunctional lip products. I use it as a lip tint, a blush, eyeshadow, and sometimes even as a contour!

What Is It?

This is the only Simply Nam product I own, so I can’t vouch for the rest of the lipsticks, but if you like buttery smooth formulas that stay on for a good amount of time, you’ve come to the right place. This gorgeous butter has a full-coverage pigment that is light on the lips and super comfortable to wear. The website calls it ‘the ideal choice for an everyday lipstick‘ and I have to agree.

The shade Rosenyn is perfect for ‘neutral undertones and light to deep skin tones’. I have cool undertones and I have to say, the shade is like my lips but better. The formula is a creamy matte which means it’s easy enough to spread when you first apply it, yet it dries up to become transfer-proof.

Our Thoughts

If it wasn’t clear, I love this lipstick. I wear it with everything I own, and it works perfectly for almost every single occasion. It really has the capacity to add that extra oomph to a look. It’s one of those products that I keep with me at all times, just in case I have to go out on a fancy date or switch on my camera for a Zoom meeting.

Unlike most matte lipsticks, this one has a little bit more give. You can manipulate the pigment until it’s nothing more than a flushed tint, which is definitely the selling point of this lipstick. My only issue with this is that it’s not hydrating. I would assume a product that says hydrating in the title would have that down. But I’m sorry to say that if you don’t use it over a lip balm, it will definitely chap your lips.

How To Use It

So first I go in with a layer of Vaseline and then apply the lip butter over it. I prefer smudging it with my fingers before it dries out to give it a more natural look. The pigment is pretty buildable so you can also go for a dramatic pout if that’s your thing. As I mentioned above, I also use this as an eyeshadow and blush all the time.

What It Looks Like

Good To Know
Good Ingredients: Squalane, jojoba oil, liquorice.
Smells Like: Slight hint of chocolate.
Best Used: As a matte lipstick, eyeshadow or blush.

In Conclusion

A good lipstick, albeit a little expensive. It's totally worth it though! I'm nearing the end of my first bottle and will definitely be repurchasing this shade. My new pastime is thinking about what I'll do if they discontinue this! No exaggeration, but it would kill me.
