Shahid Kapoor caused a storm in the cyberspace back in 2015 when he revealed he was getting married. What doubled the curiosity was that the bride was a 21-year-old student from Delhi and it was a union arranged by their families! Shahid and Mira have been married for four years now and have two kids together, daughter Misha and son Zain, but their age gap is still a point of discussion whenever they give media interviews.
Lately, Shahid has been very candid about his personal life. From talking about exes to his marriage and equation with Mira, the actor had some interesting answers and revelations in a recent interview with a magazine.
Shahid revealed that when he met Mira for the first time, he thought she was too young, but he really liked her and they instantly clicked.
When asked about how Mira took up the mantle of motherhood at such a young age, Shahid said, “My understanding of her is that she is very mature, deep down. Otherwise, she would not have been able to deal with all that has happened with her life. I mean she was just turning 21 when we got married.” The interviewer called Shahid a ‘cradle snatcher’ and Shahid agreed. “Absolutely! You know, I am. I can’t run away from it. So it is what it is.”
In the same interview, he was also asked who he would have married if not Mira. Shahid says, “Someone older.” When the interviewer asked him if he said it because that’s the current trend, Shahid said he meant someone older than Mira, not older than him.
