J.Lo might have crowned an all-white manicure the luxe-looking addition to her white-veil wedding, but her recent display of colour has inspired a bit of a bias in us. Just like Selena’s barely-there manicure. The founder of Rare Beauty might have evolved the lacquers into a star-studded, Christmas-themed green recently — but the two have reduced the pigmentation on the nails, and served some of the cosiest manis to us this month.
The singers are proffering barely-there, neutral-toned shades to the nails come fall. If you’re looking for inspo this Diwali — or even generally — you might want to add these options to your mood board ASAP! Ahead — the reveal.
They Might Not Pack The Drama Of A Soap Opera But They’re Pretty Cool
New New-d
Selena’s emerald-tipped lacquers might have pronounced themselves show-stoppers of her Emmys aesthetic; but these barely-there, low-maintenance nails are as refreshing as they are minimal. Bachik has divorced the almond-shaped tips and settled for something shorter instead. This ever-blushing manicure looks just like your nails; but better. Tom has called them ‘the new new-d’, and the name is so fitting.
While this colour looks more like the base for a French manicure, it works splendidly as a standalone as well. Notice how it contrasts Selena’s all-black aesthetic for the 2nd Annual Academy Museum Gala.
Barely There
J.Lo endowed the nails with a similar aesthetic recently: shiny, nude, and glossy.
Mocha Monochrome
If you’re looking for something a little more pigmented, J.Lo’s mocha-coloured manicure is it for you. The luxe-looking colour sits comfortably against the singer’s suede, neutral-toned jeans, and indulges in the company of her resplendent ring – courtesy, Ben Affleck.
Mocha is ideal in that it doesn’t pop as much as an orange or brown but it conveys the message a little more boldly than Selena’s barely-there nails — if that’s what you’re looking for. While it looks stunning on the star’s oval-shaped nails, it’s also such that it’ll compliment even shorter lacquers.
Taupe Tones
And if you’re looking for something a little playful, Selena’s former taupe-toned manicure is much like Jennifer’s with the exception of confetti-resembling, white-coloured dottings enriching the aesthetic.
