It appears Samantha Ruth Prabhu has taken a page out of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s books. The Oh Baby star is planning to take some time away from acting following the failure of her last release Shaakuntalam. Sam had major hopes from the project but it came crashing down.
A little birdie tells us that Samantha has reportedly decided to “avoid” such movies in the future. She is planning to take a break and focus on her OTT project Citadel along with Varun Dhawan.
It is hearting to see Sam struggling with her dream project Shaakuntalam’s failure. But sometimes a little rerouting is all you need to get back on the track.
Samantha’s Cryptic Post About Shaakuntalam’s Failure
While everyone had high hopes for Shaakuntalam, within a week of its release, it was evident that the film was a flop. The mythological drama was made with a budget of Rs 60 crore, and it is in no position to cover the same.
In no time, Sam was heavily trolled for the film’s failure. She responded to the trolls with a post on ‘Gram. Samantha put out a quote from the Bhagavad Gita on her Instagram. It read, ‘Karmanye vadhika raste, Ma phaleshu kadachana, Ma karma phala he tur bhuh, Ma te sangotsva karmani‘.
It translates to— “You have a right to ‘Karma’ (Actions) but never to any fruits thereof. You should never be motivated by the results of your actions, nor should there be any attachment in not doing your prescribed activities.”
I am proud to see Sam accepting her failure and moving on in her life. The box office is as unpredictable as the weather and all you can do is put on a smile and say, “Thank you, next?”
