Bollywood actors are often seen trapped in lawsuits. When you’re a celebrity, whatever you say or do becomes National news, and sometimes even international. Sometimes the cases get resolved with a mere fine but sometimes celebs are even penalized for their actions.
Recently, The Vibrant Media Group filed a case against Bollywood celebs namely Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh and Prabhu Deva along with their agents Matrix India Entertainment Consultants Private Limited and Yashraj Films Private Limited.
The US-based corporate has sued these stars for not performing at the US concert ‘Celebrating 100 Years of Indian Cinema’, which was to be held on September 1, 2013, despite having taken money from them.
The corporate in their lawsuit has alleged that it is a “breach of contract” as Salman Khan and the other artists, have neither kept their promise of performing at the convert nor have offered to return the deposits they had received for the performance.
Apart from this, the lawsuit also mentions that the stars had agreed to perform with another promoter.
According to the complaint, Vibrant Media had paid more than USD 200,000 to Salman Khan, USD 40,000 to Katrina Kaif and USD 36,000 to Sonakshi Sinha in advance of the concert which hasn’t been returned, it alleged.
Others sued by the promoter include superstar Akshay Kumar besides singers Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Usha Mangeshkar.
