Dupattas can be a real pain in the neck sometimes. You know it, ladies. Every girl is more than familiar with the struggle of dealing with dupattas. So, naturally, it was a moment of sheer joy to see one of my favourite celebs working a desi-fusion ensemble which is as chic as it is an anti-dupatta hack.
The celebrity I’m referring to is one of India’s best fashion stylists, the one behind Sonam Kapoor’s sartorial achievements – Rhea Kapoor. The woman knows how to work off-beat styles with unshakeable confidence and her “three-piece lehenga suit” by Anamika Khanna is proof.

It blew my mind to see how genius an eclectic blazer with a lehenga-choli actually is! Wearing a coral and yellow printed and embroidered top tucked into a blush and yellow lehenga, layered with a coral blazer, Rhea aced her mehendi look. The icing on the cake was the dapper cravat tucked neatly into her V-neck top. If that isn’t a mood, ladies, what is?

Hope you’re taking notes because there’s many a detail that deserves a roaring ovation. I’m fangirling over those bejewelled lapel pins and the statement drop earrings with strings pinned into Rhea’s hair.
Rhea Kapoor’s choice of outfit for Isha Ambani’s mehendi party was a PSA to support two very important causes. One, it made a case for the widely disliked shade of ‘coral’, which is incidentally the Pantone colour for 2019. I know coral is going to grow on me now.
Two, Blazers are everything, even with Indian wear. Rhea Kapoor’s Anamika Khanna ensemble is exhibit A. Dupattas? Thanks, but no thanks.

In fact, Rhea wore an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla double-breasted satin blazer instead of a blouse with her lehenga for Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s sangeet night as well.
