Rekha is called an “eternal beauty” for a reason. Once she enters the chat, she can give the GenZ gals a run for their money! Apart from being a veteran actress that everyone looks up to, Rekha is also a bonafide diva who has made a mark with her silk sarees. Every saree she dons is like a piece of art that turns iconic. Recently, the actress stepped out of her comfort zone as she posed for a magazine cover wearing the most opulent outfit that was originally made for a Karan Johar film!
Rekha graced the cover of Vogue Arabia, sending the internet into a frenzy and cementing her image as a fashion icon. The images showed the actress in all her glory, dressed in Manish Malhotra‘s vintage masterpieces. In the first look, she wore a black turtleneck layered with a gorgeous vintage brocade jacket embellished with elaborate golden embroidery, sequins, and delicate thread work. The loose-fitting jacket emanated elegance and authority, which was enhanced by a Mughal-inspired headpiece embroidered with gold zari.
This look was different from what we normally see on Rekha. It also has a fun fact associated with it. The gold ensemble was initially made by Manish Malhotra for Karan Johar’s film, Takht which was supposed to be a family saga based in the Mughal era. The film has currently been delayed and seems like Rekha made use of the costume. Even if the film goes on floors, this outfit has only become more iconic than before!
Her second look for the photoshoot was just as iconic! Rekha wore a classic golden saree with numerous layers of diamond necklaces, bangles, earrings, and statement rings. The pièce de résistance was the bespoke Maharaja necklace by Van Cleef and Arpels, a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that took an astounding 5,000 hours to make and featured a stunning 161.62-carat diamond! Stunning, right?
TBH, it is definitely going to take us a while to get over these photoshoot looks of Rekha. They’re definitely going to go down in fashion history!
