Even at the age of 64, the veteran actress is famed for her everlasting beauty and eternal sex appeal. Rekha, who last appeared on screen in 2014, graced the cover of Vogue Arabia and gave her first interview in nearly a decade. She was her usual self, not afraid to speak about her personal life. After years of silence, the actress finally opened up about her love life too.
Throughout her acting career, Rekha has only been in relationship with one man. The actress fell in love with a married Amitabh Bachchan while shooting for Silsila. Four decades later, she is still in love with him and even wears sindoor in his honour. On the cover of Vogue Arabia, Rekha was not afraid to flaunt her sindoor. In the interview with the international magazine, she expressed her thoughts on love and it seems like she was hinting at her love affair with Amitabh Bachchan.
When asked about love and if she had moved on in life, Rekha proudly said, “When you love someone or something so deeply, does the love disappear? No. Once the relationship is established it is forever. Sometimes we may want more and sometimes it’s just enough. This applies to my craft.”
When Rekha Confessed Her Love For Amitabh
The first time Rekha publicly spoke about her love for Amitabh was on Simi Garewal’s talk show in 2012. Simi blatantly asked her if she loved Amitabh Bachchan to which Rekha curtly replied, “Absolutely! Duh, that’s a dumb question!” She even went on to say that one can take all the love in the world and then add some more, that’s how she felt for him. She then generalised her statement by saying, “I’m yet to come across a man, woman, child, who can’t help but fall completely, passionately, insanely, desperately and especially, hopelessly, in love with him. So why should I be singled out?”
Well, we don’t know about Rekha’s love for Amitabh, but we have certainly fallen in love with her all over again after her Magazine appearance. Ain’t no one like Rekha!
