For the past few weeks, my feed has been covered with one singular trend and a few kitschy variations of that trend. At first, everyone was raving about cherry red: from cherry red nails to lip glosses.
This bright ruby red has not only captivated the masses, but has also found a place in the wardrobes of numerous celebrities. And while each of their outfits remains the same shade, there’s a simple way to make sure all eyes are on you – match your lipstick with your dress!
Deepika’s Red On Red On Red
For Deepika’s red-on-red-on-red look, the actress paired a stunning red ensemble with red nails, red pumps, and the classic NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Mysterious Red.
Tamannaah’s Smoky Makeup Look
In her cover shoot for First Look Magazine, Tamannaah Bhatia’s red outfit was so ridiculously on point. Paired with a no makeup, makeup look, and free-flowing locks, she really did justice to the shade. A natural red tint, a brown smoky eye, and a flawless base are one of my favourite makeup looks to pair with an all-red fit.
Priyanka’s Ruby Red With A Burgundy Lip
Now another great way to pair this shade is with a darker lip of a similar colour. For the premiere of Citadel, Priyanka Chopra donned this gorgeous Vivienne Westwood number and paired it with a deep, burgundy lip. Honestly, this is not a combination I thought would work – but it looks impossibly chic and put together. She kept the rest of her look very neutral, even opting for bare nails to make sure the focus was on her dress.
Rihanna’s Bright Red Boudoir Pairing
Arguably, no one does the red lip better than Queen Riri and her Fenty beauty red lip shades that are loved in the industry. For one of her more recent campaign shoots with SavagexFenty, she released these super sexy pictures of herself donned in red lingerie and her classic red lip. The cherry on top was her gorgeous blue and silver eye look that is just to die for!
A Little Gloss Goes A Long Way
Remember when all everyone was talking about was Barbie? One thing that stuck with me more than the movie, though, was Margot Robbie’s red dress on the red carpet. Can I just say – what a look! She paired the foxy ensemble with a glossy red lip, voluminous lashes, and a super cute red bag. This is one of my favourite looks on her ever.
The best thing about this shade is that it’s super easy to dress up or down. You can pair it with anything under the sun and you would still look good, although a red dress with red lipstick is a sure win!
