Ranveer Singh ended 2021 on quite a ‘jordaar’ note and entered the new year with the same energy. He’s currently enjoying the success of 83 and has some really amazing movies in the pipeline. He will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in Karan Johar’s family drama, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani that will hit the theatres in 2023. He will be collaborating with Rohit Shetty once again for his upcoming comedy flick, Cirkus, that’s scheduled to release later this year. We know what you must be thinking—we cannot wait that long! Well, we cannot either and that’s why, we’re eagerly waiting for his film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar that’s all set to drop on February 25.
Ranveer will be seen opposite Arjun Reddy actress, Shalini Pandey, in the movie. While talking about his character in an interview recently, he said that his role is quite special and unique.
During a conversation with a leading daily, the actor revealed Jayeshbhai Jordaar will revolve around a social issue but in a light-hearted manner. He said, “It’s a very special film, full of heart. It’s one of those films about social issues which are given a very light-hearted treatment. This is something I always wanted to do, this genre. It’s a very unique and original character.”
Honestly, we wanted Ranveer to try something similar for a while as well. He has impressed us with his brilliant performance in periodic dramas like Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. We have loved his boy-next-door avatars in movies like Band Baaja Baaraat and Dil Dhadakne Do as well. But, it will be the first time he will play the role of a regular guy fighting for a social cause. We are hella excited to see him playing this new character now!
Ranveer said that while this movie will revolve around sensitive subjects, it will not be a serious drama. It will have light-hearted moments that will make the audience laugh and also thought-provoking scenes that will make us emotional.
He added, “Vo films jo hoti hain na, jo thoda sa hasati hain, thoda sa rulati hain, thodi is comedy ke sath tragedy mixed hoti hai. Aur kahi na kahi ek halka sa social message bhi aa jata hai (It’s one of those films which will make you laugh, cry, and has a tragic comedy element to it. And there is a social message in between all this).”
Jayeshbhai Jordaar was earlier supposed to release in October 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. Well, we have waited long enough and we’re sure that watching Ranveer’s stellar performance in the movie will be worth it all!
