Remember that episode of Koffee With Karan Season 5 when Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor appeared together? Ranveer talked about how he wanted to star in a mainstream massy Bollywood flick where the hero makes a stupendous entry in slow motion, fights the bad guys, gets the girl and saves the day.
Looks like Rohit Shetty watched that episode and together with Karan Johar, made Ranveer’s wish come true. Not only did Ranveer get to play the lead in Simmba, but the film that released about only two weeks ago is still roaring at the box office. It has collected over Rs 150 crores and is not too far from cruising past the Rs 200-crore mark. Could Ranveer ask for more from his first commercial film?
The film stars Ranveer as a cop and Sara Ali Khan as his love interest. Sonu Sood plays the antagonist.
To celebrate the success of the film, the team got together last evening in Mumbai. It was a star-studded night that saw Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty, Sara Ali Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Akshay Kumar, Manish Malhotra, Sonu Sood and his wife Sonali and many others.

Interestingly, Deepika and Ranveer arrived in their respective cars for the bash.
