However, we recently stumbled upon a video of the two stars and we are shook. NGL, we have played this clip plenty of times just to make sense of what happened but each time, we have just felt enraged.
Allow us to give a little context—Alia, Ranbir and Ayan Mukerji made their way to a social media live sesh in which they spoke about their film Brahmāstra. During the conversation, the Raazi actress shared the team’s promotional plans.
Aloo shared, “Haan karenge,(we will do it) we will be everywhere, but the question that you are asking is why are we not phaloed (spread) everywhere and doing everything.”
Before Alia could finish her thought, RK interrupted her and said, “Well right now I can see someone is phaloed” while looking at the actress’ baby bump. Ranbir instantly gauged Alia’s reaction and tried to cover up the comment with, “It is a joke, in a cute way.”
NGL, it was pretty evident that Alia was taken aback by the joke and she didn’t know how to react. Honestly, the remark was totally uncalled for as every mom-to-be needs TLC, not snide comments.
Netizens took to Reddit to comment on the video and they had a lot to say. “I get that Alia is smitten with him and got kinda confused with her crush for on-screen Ranbir vs the real person Ranbir (who’s like the Coraline’s ‘button-eyed’ version of his on screen persona). But how come her well-wishers, her family, her bin bulaye godfather KJo didn’t warn her and even actively made this match happen?” wrote a user.
Another commented, “What do men really expect? Carry another human in the uterus and be a Barbie? And Alia why why why….”
TBH, we stand by netizens on this topic. Making a joke at a pregnant woman’s expense is hella disrespectful. We hope Ranbir learns his lesson following this fiasco!
