Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen tied the knot with TV actress Charu Asopa in the court on June 7. On June 16, the couple had a Christian wedding at the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa.
Charu had spoken to a leading daily about their wedding plans. She had said in the interview, “We will have a destination wedding in Goa on June 16. The theme of the wedding is ‘Royal traditional’ so everything will be in that style. Functions will be engagement on June 14, followed by sangeet and mehendi on June 15 and haldi and wedding on June 16. We are getting married in both Bengali and Rajasthani style and rituals as Rajeev is a Bengali and I am a Rajasthani.”

Charu was seen clad in a beautiful yellow lehenga choli for her haldi ceremony.

Rajeev shared a slow-motion video of the couple. In the video, Charu is seen running towards Rajeev and he picks her up. It’s too cute to handle!
For the sangeet ceremony, Charu wore a pink nude lehenga with gold work on it and Rajeev sported an orange kurta with white pyjama.

For their wedding ceremony, Charu looked gorgeous in a traditional red lehenga and Rajeev looked dapper in a white traditional Bengali attire.

In an interview with a leading daily, Charu had opened up about her relationship with Sushmita, and how she used to impersonate her Miss Universe winning moment. She had said, “You won’t believe that I impersonated Sushmita Sen, when she was crowned Miss Universe, at a fancy dress competition in my school. I was very young then. I showed her the picture and she said that I looked adorable in it (smiles). Imagine the stroke of luck, she will be my sister-in-law soon. She told us to never sleep over a fight, and resolve our differences without any delay. Of course, like any other couple, Rajeev and I, too, have our share of fights, but we also resolve it in no time. He is very mature. We respect each other and we are good friends before anything else. Sushmita didi told me that jab aap bohot comfortable ho jaate ho kisi ke saath then you should know that he is the right guy for you. In my case, it’s Rajeev, because we are extremely comfortable with each other.”
Such is destiny!
