Or so it would have if Friends had not been in our lives. At one point in our lives, we all have related to one of the six characters – Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey and Ross. But Rachel and Monica stand out. Especially for us fashion girls, for their style statements are as strong as their bond.
This Friendship Day, we are celebrating the stylish friendship between Rachel and Monica. Here are our seven favourite moments from Friends when they were too stylish to handle! It’s just the kind of relationship we want to have with our bestie.
1. When Their Dresses Were A Printed Paradise
While Monica sported a paisley print on her summer dress, Rachel was all about gingham checks – delicate prints that are still dominant even more than two decades later.
2. When They Showed Us Two Different Outfits To Wear To The Dance Class
When they went looking for the fake Monica but ended up finding two unique ways to dress for the class. Rachel’s athleisure looks and Monica’s boss lady style.
3. When They Had Each Others’ Back In Sickness And In Style
It’s amazing how corduroy jackets have made a comeback when Rachel and Monica have been wearing them casually at emergency rooms and everywhere.
4. When They Made Casual Look Chic
Rachel’s beige pyjamas are totally an outside-home thing now. And crop tops need no introduction! Whereas Monica’s blue jeans-black tee look is anything but basic.
5. When They Were Twinning In Shades Of The Beach
And the classic bestie goals – twinning! Rachel and Monica wore the same straight fit blue jeans where Rachel paired it with a deep V-neck top and Monica with an oversized shirt. That’s how you win and twinning, ladies.
6. When They Went OTT With Their 80’s Look
Don’t we all love the flashbacks from the show? This one in particular leaves a stylish mark thanks to the “bitchin'” animal print on Monica’s skirt and Rachel’s top. Even her sling bag has fish scales on it.
7. When They Showed Us The Two Types Of Dressers In The World
Last but not the least, Rachel and Monica very stylishly introduced us to the two types of fashion girls – the ‘Babe’ and the breezy. And we’re all for both!
