Wondering how Priyanka Chopra always looks so good on the red carpet? It’s thanks to her smartly curated pre-makeup skincare routine. PeeCee’s go-to celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubrof revealed how she preps her skin before makeup and it consists of just a few products and tools alongside some genius hacks.
Even PeeCee herself praises Pati Dubrof for not only being a makeup maestro but also an expert at skincare for her clients such as herself. “Whatever problems I might be having on my skin, Pati knows how to take care of it,” said Priyanka. So without further ado, check out what really goes on behind the scenes and into Priyanka’s skin before makeup.
Step 1: Chilled Sheet Masks
PeeCee said that she likes to chill her sheet masks in the fridge before applying them on her skin and the idea is thanks to her MUA. Pati revealed that this is the first step to prepping her skin. She uses the 111Skin sheet masks. Pati said, “They give this incredible plump glow, and they just feel good,” and Priyanka added, “It was cold as hell. She put it on my face and I literally screamed.”

Step 2: Japanese Face Tools
Once the sheet mask has done its job, Pati takes it off and massages Priyanka’s skin with a face massager tool. Pati said, “These are Japanese face tools and they help to stimulate circulation and move fluids around.”
While I can’t identify the exact face tool Pati uses on Priyanka, an affordable electric face massage tool that I like to use is the Protouch Skin Lift Device.
Step 3: Moisturiser On The Perimeter
Pati then went on to moisturise PeeCee’s skin but with a hack. Pati said, “Moisturiser is important but you don’t put it everywhere. You don’t want like a shiny centre (of the face). So moisturiser on the perimeter of the face. Hydration in the areas where you want the glowiness.”
The face cream Pati uses on Priyanka in the video is the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream.
Step 4: Matte Primer On The Centre
Since Pati left the centre of PeeCee’s face without moisturiser, she went on to apply a mattifying primer on the centre area. Pati explained, “And then mattification in the centre (of the face) where you want to be more matte but you don’t want to use a lot of powder, because powders are ageing. So then like a matte primer through the centre and that’s prior to foundation.”
I cannot make out the exact mattifying primer Pati used on Priyanka but I love the Type Beauty Matte Up Balancing Primer to mattify my skin and make my makeup last longer.
