Another day, another troll!
The life of an actor may appear to be all glitz and glamm, but it has its pros and cons. The main drawback is having to face the wrath of vicious trolls, who will find any reason to criticise and mock celebrities. Priyanka Chopra, who is currently in Mumbai with her daughter Malti Marie and husband Nick Jonas, is their most recent victim.
Priyanka arrived in Mumbai to attend the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) launch and has decided to stay a little longer. As per conjecture, the actress is in town for her cousin Parineeti Chopra’s engagement. Regardless of the reason, it is Malti Marie’s first trip to India, and the doting mother wanted to introduce her one-year-old toddler to Indian culture. Little did she know that even that would become a negative topic on the internet.
Priyanka recently took her daughter to the famous Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. She posted the cutest pictures of herself holding her baby girl in the mandir. She captioned, “MM’s first trip to India had to be completed with Shree Siddhivinayak’s blessings.” However, instead of appreciating the adorable pictures, the actress got brutally trolled for getting VIP treatment at the temple.
Priyanka and her friends sat in the front row during the aarti and were able to shoot the entire darshan on their phones, whereas the general public is not permitted to take photographs inside. Netizens were irked by the discrimination between a celebrity and a commoner. Hence, they called out the actress as well as the temple authority.
A few social media users also expressed their displeasure with the pandit’s patience with Priyanka and her friends, whereas this is never the case with ordinary people. Commenting on the same, a netizen wrote, “Hume to Kbhi tika nhi lagaya.” Another one penned, “Siddhivinayak mein if we click pictures toh security Wale phn le lete hai … & Bindaas allowing them to shoot !! Super ha.” Some even accused the actress of “showing off” by using religious practices.
While I understand why some devotees were outraged by the special treatment, it’s unrealistic to expect a celebrity to stand in line without being bombarded by the public. Priyanka Chopra was simply seeking blessings for herself and her daughter, and it’s past time for people to start looking for the good in things rather than the bad.
