Sonam Kapoor turns 37 today and this one’s a very special birthday. The actress is currently in her third trimester of pregnancy and it’s her first birthday as a mommy-to-be! To celebrate the day, friends and designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla shared a pic of the actress dressed in one of their signature ivory creations. “We love this woman. Her relentless passion for fashion, which has always seen her change the game. Her fearless independence that makes her do it her own way every single time, with an energy that is infectious and warmth that infuses every interaction with joy,” they wrote.
In the pictures from the shoot, Sonam looks pretty as a painting and credit goes to the designers as well as the stylist, Rhea Kapoor for capturing the magic of motherhood. Here’s everything that we are loving about the look:

An expecting mother is a divine wonder. She is delicate, yet so fierce and strong. Sonam’s latest look captures all aspects of this experience. Her outfit comprises a dramatic top complete with cropped cape sleeves, multiple satin trails, and pearl embellishments. The collar stands out as a strong detail which is perfectly balanced by the long, gauzy trails that gently fall to give it a gown-like appeal. The top has been matched with a floor length skirt that features abstract pearl embroidery. It is the varying-sized peals in her hair that add to the angelic appeal of the entire look.
Quite apparently, the ensemble has been designed keeping Sonam’s comfort in mind. It is every bit OTT and yet so comfy. Plus, we love that no effort has been made to hide Sonam’s baby bump. Sonam reposted the picture with a caption that reads “On the cusp of motherhood and at the brink of my birthday, I’m choosing to dress how I feel-Pregnant & Powerful, Bold & Beautiful…”
It is interesting how Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have found a muse in the expecting actress. Earlier also, they had conceptualised a similar look for Sonam where she legit looked like a Raja Ravi Verma painting. Rest assured, we cannot wait for what else comes out of this collaboration. Here’s hoping that a mommy-baby shoot is on the cards as well!
