According To This National Survey, North Indians Have More Sex

India is a diverse country with people who have different opinions, thoughts and preferences. Men, women, children all think and function differently. And when it comes to sex, well some do it and talk about it, some don’t do it and some still see it as a taboo to talk about.

National Family Health Survey (NFHS) conducted a survey in 2015-16 and collected data that will take you by surprise.

Apparently, most men in smaller towns are likely to have sexual intercourse for the first time at the age of 20-24, whereas for women, the average age for losing their virginity is at 15-19 years of age. The reason behind this is conjugal sex. It means, most men and women first have sex after marriage. Since women in our country are married off at an earlier age than men, they tend to have their first sexual encounter at the tender ages between 15 to 19 years.

The aforementioned statistics vary in bigger cities where people are more educated and girls wish to get married after the completion of their higher studies. So, you can say that education delays conjugal sex.

The data also suggest that pre-marital sex is still a taboo in the country. Only about 11% of single men and 2% of single women in the 15-24 age-group have been actively engaging in pre-marital sex.

The most interesting finding of this survey is that North Indians report a more active sex life compared to those down South. Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan are the two states where a majority of people reported an active sex life. Also, more than 55% of both men and women in states such as Haryana, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal reported having sex in the four weeks prior to being surveyed.
