On October 16, 2024, 18-year-old Nikita Porwal was crowned Femina Miss India 2024 at the 60th edition of the prestigious beauty pageant, held at Famous Studios and we are definitely celebrating her big win.
Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, Nikita received the coveted crown from last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta. Adding to the momentous occasion, former beauty queen and actress Neha Dhupia adorned the new titleholder with the official Miss India sash.
About Nikita
Born and raised in Ujjain, Nikita completed her schooling at Carmel Covent Senior Secondary School before moving on to higher education at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Since a young age, Nikita has been part of more than 60 plays, including a 250-page self-authored production, ‘Krishna Leela.’ Interestingly, she started her career as a TV anchor and has also been part of a film titled Chambal Paar, which has earned recognition at international film festivals.
Nikita is also an ardent animal lover. She told Miss India, “Animal welfare is a cause that resonates deeply with me. The thought of innocent animals suffering due to cruelty and neglect is devastating,” She further added, “As humans, we’re not the owners of this planet, but rather its guardians, responsible for its well-being. Our intelligence and advancements should not only benefit us but also be used to protect and care for the creatures that rely on us. Through this platform, I aim to raise awareness about the importance of conserving, caring for, and protecting animals. Not only does their welfare suffer, but our humanity does, too. With a large following, I plan to initiate petitions to strengthen and expand animal protection laws in our country,”
A big congratulations to Nikita. Onwards and upwards, girl!
