Nia Sharma’s guest appearance on Bigg Boss OTT was full of drama. She stirred things in the house by giving a few gharwalas the wake-up call they needed to start taking their game seriously. She also revealed how the audience was reacting to every individual’s game and that gave them tips to plan their strategies as well. The actress stayed in the BB house for just one day, but she surely made us believe that she’d be quite a strong player in the long run. We’re now expecting her to enter BB 15 main house and give the contestants a tough competition. TBH, if that happens, there’s a high possibility that she can win the show just like she won Khatron Ke Khiladi 8.
Apart from her stint in the BB house, the actress recently featured in her music video, Do Ghoont that released on September 6. Well, it seems that a lot of great things are happening in Nia’s professional life and all we can say is, *touchwood*. But, this wasn’t the case always. During a conversation with a leading daily recently, she opened up about a time when she was unemployed for almost a year.
Nia made her television debut with the daily soap, Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behena Hai in 2011. The show went off the air in 2013 and post that, the actress stayed unemployed for nearly nine months. She said, “When I came to this industry, I was all by myself. I was fresh from Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, which was the show that made me. Uske baad poora ek saal ka gap tha (After that, there was a gap of a year).”
Instead of quitting, she worked on herself and learned new skills till she bagged the lead role in Jamai Raja. While talking about it, she said, “So after Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai till Jamai Raja, there was a nine-month gap. I was all alone in Mumbai. I had no friends because obviously, I was new. I stayed in my shell. I worked on myself, I started learning belly dancing. Woh jo 9 mahine guzar gaye and I realised ki koi kaam nahi tha, kuch nahi tha, not a single penny I had earned, no friends… I think woh ek period tha jo mujhe dobara nahi jeena tha (I never want to relive those nine months, when I had no work, no friends and did not earn a single penny).”
We’re glad that Nia is in a much better place now professionally. Before her stint on BB OTT, we saw her in the reboot of Jamai Raja that released on Zee5 in 2019. While we enjoyed watching her as Roshini once again, we would love to know the actress’s real personality. We’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that we see her in Bigg Boss 15 soon.
