Mukesh Ambani has been making headlines for several reasons this year. It started when he roped in Maroon 5 to perform at his son’s wedding. And more recently, Asia’s richest man stepped in to help his younger brother out of a tough spot.
Clearly for the Ambanis, family comes first.
Mukesh Ambani paid Rs 453 crore to Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson, on behalf of Anil Ambani and saved him from imprisonment. He did this a day before the Supreme Court’s set deadline expired.
Anil thanked elder brother Mukesh and sister-in-law Nita Ambani in a brief statement issued through the company’s spokesperson. He said, “My sincere and heartfelt thanks to my respected elder brother, Mukesh and Nita, for standing by me during these trying times and demonstrating the importance of staying true to our strong family values by extending this timely support. I and my family are grateful we have moved beyond the past, and are deeply touched with this gesture.”
Clearly, Mukesh Ambani saved the day. But netizens saw it as the perfect moment to crack some jokes.
