Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin franchise is a fan favourite and no one can deny it. The TRPs are proof that it has been one of the most popular and most loved supernatural shows on Indian television. The first two seasons starred Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan as the naagins who became superstars after the show. And the third season saw Surbhi Jyoti join the ichhadari naagin clan and rise to the same fame. Add Bigg Boss to the hat and suddenly you are the talk of the town. That’s what the reality show does to its participants–it puts them on the map. Shehnaaz Gill, Sidharth Shukla, Asim Riaz, Rashami Desai are proofs from Bigg Boss season 13.
If reports are to be believed, Surbhi Jyoti has been approached for Bigg Boss 14. The thirteenth season concluded earlier this year in February with Sidharth Shukla as the winner. Now, the show makers have started approaching celebrities for the fourteenth season.
In fact, this isn’t the first time the makers of the show have approached Surbhi. Surbhi has been repeatedly refusing the offer to participate in Bigg Boss for years now. In an interview with an entertainment portal, the actress had once said, “I don’t think I will ever do a reality show because I don’t have that competitive spirit in me. The only thing I enjoy doing is acting; aur pressure mein to mujhse acting bhi nahi hoti (I can’t even act under pressure). Since I can’t handle too much pressure, main bahut aaram se apni cheeze karna pasand karti hoon (I like to do things at my own pace).“
However, it is unknown if the actress has accepted the offer this time or denied it yet again. Reports suggest that Bigg Boss Season 14 is planning to go on air in mid-October, provided the pandemic calms down.
Do you think you will get to enjoy your favourite and the most controversial show this year? I, on the other hand, just can’t help but wonder what the participants will feel about going from this lockdown to the Bigg Boss lockdown. What a pity!
